Batterystaple Games’ 30XX, a rogue-lite action platformer inspired by Mega Man X, will launch in Q3 2023. It exits Steam Early Access for PC and also comes to Nintendo Switch. As a sequel to the underrated 20XX, 30XX features a brand-new art style and co-op support. Check out the trailer below courtesy of IGN, with playable characters Nina and Ace in action.
30XX has been in early access since February 2021 and recently added a new Maker Mode for user-created levels, led by WreckingPrograms of Mega Man Maker fame. Players can design stages for speed runs or create “full-scale Metroidvania levels” with enemies, sub-bosses and puzzles to solve.
While co-op is playable online, you can also engage in local play on PC and Nintendo Switch. It even supports Joy-Cons on the latter. Though its predecessor was challenging, the sequel has an Assist Mode for those who care about the story. Of course, you can also set custom modifiers called Entropy Conditions to increase the difficulty.
Stay tuned for more details on 30XX, especially as the developer has teased another “mega-sized” announcement coming “soon.”
