Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is being billed by CD Projekt RED as a massive expansion for the 2020 open world action RPG, and supposedly has the biggest ever budget for a CDPR expansion to date. That, it seems, will also result in an increased price for the expansion compared to what some may have expected.
As spotted by a user on Reddit, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was recently very briefly listed on GOG.com at a price of €29.99, which would roughly translate to about $35. If that listing is accurate (which it presumably was, given that GOG is CD Projekt’s own storefront), that would mean Phantom Liberty will be costlier than both The Witcher 3 expansions combined. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine can be separately purchased for $10 and $20 respectively, and can be purchased together for $25.
What that means about what Phantom Liberty’s scope will be and how much content it will offer remains to be seen, but the expansion is expected to get a new showing and new details at Summer Game Fest later today. It’s likely, based on this leak, that pre-orders will also become available after that showing.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is due out sometime this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
