Hasbro announces its virtual twist on a legendary family game. As the name suggests, Hasbro’s Twister Air is a modernized vision of the classic mat game. Ditching the iconic mat and spinner, the new augmented reality games task players with posing to music. The game tracks player movements using wireless wrist and ankle sensors featuring “limb tracking and color recognition technology.” This new augmented reality title features a library with over 16 songs.
The Twister Air set contains eight motion-tracking Twister Air bands and an adjustable stand to hold a tablet or smartphone. Players must also download the free app on their Android or iOS devices. Unlike its predecessor, which is a strictly free-for-all experience, players can play the game solo, in teams, or in a versus mode. All of this is done on a shared screen and accompanied by music paced to create an engaging game. The game effectively tracks the movement to keep scores as the player contorts to new poses.
With this party staple revamped for the latest technological update, you can forget the mat now. Twister Air goes on sale starting August 1, but it is also available for pre-order from Amazon for $19.99.
