Hexworks continues to release updates for its Soulslike action RPG Lords of the Fallen, with the latest offering improvements to performance. Its main goal is freeing up VRAM to provide “additional headroom” for GPUs that “are operating at the limit of their capabilities.”
These include adjusting Soulflay texture sizes and materials to make them “easier” for GPUs to handle, reworking UI elements, and only loading anchor images when interacting with Vestiges. Several textures have also been fixed, reducing VRAM consumption by 10 MB, while memory allocated to environmental interaction has been reduced to free up about 16 MB more.
Of course, the update also includes crash fixes, from one that could occur when an NPC is talking under specific conditions to another when interacting with “certain in-game elements.” There are also adjustments to New Game Plus. Check out the full update notes below for more details.
Lords of the Fallen is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It debuted in fourth place in the UK physical sales charts. Check out our review and various tips and tricks here.
