NetherRealm has released another patch for fighting game Mortal Kombat 1, and while the full patch notes are yet to be released, players have worked out the update makes significant changes to gameplay.
Chief among the changes is a nerf to Cyrax’s controversial Horizontal Kopter Chopper Kameo assist, which had come to dominate the meta. This move now costs a full bar, which significantly reduces how often it can be used.

Other changes include tagging moves, which should make training, or labbing as the fighting game community calls it, easier. Elsewhere, Baraka has seen a big nerf to damage, and a Halloween theme was added to Johnny Cage’s mansion stage.

Mortal Kombat 1 players are still working out everything this patch does, which is out now on console and weighs in at 8.5GB on PlayStation 5 (version tested). The in-game patch notes are for version 0.134:
Players have also picked up on mention of the sale of a Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1. This doesn’t appear to be live yet, but has already sparked vociferous debate about Mortal Kombat 1’s already controversial monetisation.
There’s no mention of a new patch for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, which has come under fire for performance issues and poor quality visuals.
