Just one week before launch, the minimum PC specs for Alan Wake 2 have been revealed, alongside a bunch of recommended system hardware for various resolutions, graphics settings and ray-tracing options.
Alan Wake 2 is coming out for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via the Epic Games Store) next week on 27th October 2023, over 13 years after the original.
Alan Wake 2 is going to push PCs pretty hard, it seems, with the lowest bar for the GPU set at a GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600 GPU paired with an Intel i5 7600K to reach 1080p and 30FPS on the Low preset.
Ideally you will have a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700XT, both of which can manage Medium preset at 1080p 60FPS, though a RTX 3060 or RX 6600XT can manage Medium at 1440p and 30FPS.
While ray tracing is possible for the RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6800XT, this is the lowest ray tracing quality, and will limit you to 1080p 30FPS. For better results you’ll ideally have the GeForce RTX 40 series, which allows for higher quality ray tracing and path tracing to be enabled – the RTX 4070 is able to push 1080p 60FPS and RTX 4080 shooting for full fat 4K at 60FPS.
In all but the lowest specs they recommend an eight-core Ryzen 3700X CPU or equivalent. All systems need 16GB of RAM, and 90GB of SSD storage. It’s also worth noting that every graphics setting uses DLSS or FSR 2 upscaling at varying levels.
Target – Low preset with 1080p 30FPS performance
CPU – Intel Core i5 7600K or AMD equivalent
GPU – GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600 (6GB VRAM)

Storage – 90GB SSD
DLSS/FSR 2 – Quality setting
Target – Medium preset with 1440p 30FPS performance
CPU – AMD Ryzen 3700X or Intel equivalent
GPU – GeForce RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT (8GB VRAM)
