The Soulslike game Lies of P turned out to be a big success for NEOWIZ, selling over one million units in less than a month (despite being available on Game Pass) and earning a positive reception from fans and critics alike. Here on Wccftech, Lies of P earned an 8 out of 10 score from Francesco De Meo:
Wearing its influences on its sleeves, Lies of P is a solid imitation of FromSoftware's Bloodborne that manages to stay fun for the entire duration of a single playthrough of around 20 hours despite a marked lack of innovation. While the callbacks and nods to the game that inspired it may be a little too blatant, NEOWIZ has developed a solid game that all soulslike fans can enjoy if they can keep their expectations in check.
It's no surprise, then, that the developers are planning to support the game as much as possible. In today's Director's Letter, Ji Won Choi revealed some of the balance changes that will be introduced with the next game update due later this month.
Firstly, certain blades and handles will be buffed so that they can be properly used in the Weapon Assemble system. NEOWIZ also plans to ease the difficulty of Lies of P in the game's early stages by making the Rising Dodge move available as a default skill. Moreover, the NPC merchant Polendina (the personal puppet of Antonia and the receptionist of Hotel Krat) will sell two additional Quartz from the first stage of his shop.
Visual customization will be improved, too. The community had requested the ability to wear glasses and hats at the same time, and the developers are complying by introducing a dedicated slot for facial accessories. Lastly, NEOWIZ wishes to thank Lies of P players by gifting everyone the costume worn by fan-favorite NPC merchant Alidoro.
