Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 will have a proper adventure mode, sporting roguelike gameplay and a story. This comes after the first game only featured very basic arcade mode, which for a long time, didn't even have any voice acting.
Also revealed today, Mr. Krabs is coming to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 as DLC. He'll join the roster sometime in 2024, alongside fellow newcomers, Zuko and Rocksteady. They don't have a release window just yet, but it shows that the devs are already working on DLC after the first game came under fire for its post-launch support.
It's not exactly clear how the roguelike story campaign will play out, but in the new trailer, we get a brief look at some platforming segments. It appears this will break up the fighting, so we're not going from one match to the next like we were in the first game.
Then, there's the first DLC pack, which will be made up of Mr. Krabs, Zuko, and Rocksteady. As a fan was quick to point out in the replies, this makes all of those shitposts from back in the first game come to life, as everyone had fun with the idea of Mr. Krabs in a Smash Bros.-esque fighter.
These fighters were leaked earlier this month, so we can probably expect other new additions to the game to be revealed early as well. And if these characters come as a disappointment - the final roster is lacking characters from the first game, after all - then fret not, as we can expect more fighter packs down the line. Admittedly, having to hand over more money for characters we had before would be disappointing, but with any luck, they'll have a reworked moveset to justify the decision. Or, they'll be new fighters entirely, of course.
