Pax Dei announced today that it will be hosting its first alpha test, giving players a peak behind the curtain at the upcoming MMO. Dubbed «Home Valley,» this test will focus on building and gathering and kicks off next week on November 14th.
Pax Dei's Home Valley test leans hard into one of the major mechanics that should come to dominate the MMO — exploration and building. In Pax Dei, everything from the weapons and armor to the literal towns, villages, and castles are all player-created. The Home Valley test is aimed at checking out those mechanics in detail with a larger group of players and making sure that its up to snuff as the MMO continues on its way towards its eventual launch.
In a post to the official Discord, the Mainframe Industries team highlighted the focus, with the hope players will test the resource gathering, crafting, building, grouping and more. While combat isn't the focus of this test, there will still be plenty of points of adventure, the developer says in the thread, as caves, dungeons and more will also be available to venture into.

PvP is also disabled during the test so the priority can be on the social and crafting features — but the team does emphasize that this is a «core feature» of the MMO and will return t the game.
