For a while, it seemed like Xbox owners weren’t going to be able to play Baldur’s Gate 3 this year, but eventually, Larian Studios announced the game would arrive on Xbox Series X/S this December after Microsoft gave in and allowed them to cut splitscreen co-op from the Series S version. That said, we didn’t have an exact release date. Well, tonight at The Game Awards, the Baldur’s Gate 3 cleaned up, winning Game of the Year and... it was also quietly released on Xbox without the expected big flashy announcement.
Yup, that's right, the game is available to download on Xbox right now! Just be forewarned, you may have to call in sick to work tomorrow if you start playing the game now. While we're at it, here's a quick new BG3 accolades trailer.
