There are only a few inevitabilities in the world, those being death, taxes, and the intro of a new Persona game being an absolute banger. Persona 3 Reload is no exception, as the game's official opening movie was released earlier today, bringing with it a new song from rapper Lotus Juice and vocalist Azumi Takahashi called "Full Moon, Full Life".
Persona 3 fans are thrilled across the board with this new track, and the opening movie in general, which has already spawned a wave of memes, in-jokes, and everything else social media does to show its love and admiration for a piece of fiction. Fans of the original game will know that you still can't beat a bit of "Burn My Dread" though, and someone has already replaced "Full Moon, Full Life" with the game's iconic track.
The fan in question goes by Ll0ejNzwll0 on Twitter, and reuploaded the intro with Burn My Dread playing over the top just a few hours after the initial reveal. Despite being made with a completely different style and tone of song in mind, Burn My Dread actually fits over the top of Persona 3 Reload's intro pretty well, even syncing up with the visuals at certain points, like the introductory scene with Koromaru sitting in front of the Torii gates.
Obviously, it's not completely perfect, as this does just appear to be a song slapped over the original intro, but it's fun to see nonetheless. Surprisingly, a lot of fans in the comments to Ll0ejNzwll0's video are saying that they actually prefer the new song over Burn My Dread, which must mean Atlus is doing something right to top such an iconic bit of music.
