Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arrowhead Studios dropped the launch trailer for Helldivers 2 earlier this week, giving fans another look at the game before its February launch.
The trailer shows off the game’s various weaponry and puts teamwork in full focus. It's also decidedly campy with the developer leaning hard into the frequent comparisons to Starship Troopers instead of shying away from them.
Speaking of teamwork, Helldivers 2 offers crossplay across both PC and PlayStation platforms, a marked difference from its predecessor. The original game did feature crossplay across the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and even the PS Vita, but PC players were left out in the cold.
Previously, Arrowhead Studios revealed the game’s PC specifications, which appear to be fairly accommodating across a wide variety of hardware.
Helldivers 2 is a sci-fi shooter built for solo or co-op play for up to four players across procedurally generated levels where players can explore a variety of alien worlds. The sequel makes a major shift from the first game by switching from a top-down perspective to a third-person perspective.
Helldivers 2 launches on February 8 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.
