Microsoft’s first-party pipeline is looking set for a packed 2024, with the likes of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Avowed, among others, set to launch this year, but will that momentum carry forward into 2025? Obviously, it’s far too early to have a concrete answer to that question just yet, but it looks like one long-awaited Xbox game – Fable – is targeting a release next year.
That’s as per prominent insider NateTheHate, who recently claimed on ResetEra that Playground Games’ long-awaited reboot of the RPG series is targeting a 2025 released, based on information he received “sometime last year”. Of course, plans can always change, especially when it comes to game releases, but for now, that does seem to be the plan, based on this, at least.
We last saw Fable at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, where the game got an in-engine trailer, which was also our first look at it since it was announced with a brief CG teaser in 2020. Currently, Microsoft hasn’t said anything about when the game will release, but with the Xbox Games Showcase set to return this June, hopefully, we’ll be hearing more about it in a few months’ time.
Meanwhile, NateTheHate has also claimed that the rumoured Banjo-Kazooie reboot is being “reworked from its original vision and scope.” Read more on that through here.
