Luckily for JRPG fans, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered isn't leaving Xbox Game Pass on March 15 as was previously announced. Earlier this month, Xbox released the Game Pass Wave 1 announcement. As usual, this announcement clued fans in on the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in March 2024, and it also highlighted the games that would be leaving the service this month as well.
When the Xbox Game Pass games leaving in March 2024 were first announced, three titles were confirmed to be on the chopping block. At the time, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Shredders, and the critically-acclaimed JRPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered were all said to be leaving the service on March 15. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers are still running out of time to play Hardspace: Shipbreaker and Shredders, it seems they can breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered.
In a surprise twist, Xbox has updated the Xbox Game Pass Leaving Soon section, confirming that Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered will remain available on the service for a while longer. Xbox provided no explanation as to why Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered is staying on Xbox Game Pass when it was previously said to be on its way out, but it seems that a new deal for the game was reached. The original plan was indeed to remove the game, as the updated blog post states that the game will «no longer» be leaving the Game Pass library, as opposed to its listing in the Leaving Soon section being a mistake.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers that have yet to play Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered should certainly consider giving it a shot. Ni no Kuni has earned rave reviews from critics, with many praising its Studio Ghibli art style and story. It has an 86 overall critic rating, making it one of the highest-rated JRPGs on the entire subscription service.
Anyone that decides to play Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered
