This week saw a great disturbance in the world of gold making, as if millions of goblins suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. We are of course talking about the blip that temporarily prevented EU users from turning WoW Tokens into Battlenet balance. Thankfully, this has been fixed and was not intended, but it certainly highlights one of the core motivations for many to make gold and what would happen if it were removed.

To reiterate, this has been fixed, but it's worth discussing what a world without Battlenet balance from Tokens would be like. What is your motivation point between spending real money and playing via Tokens?
On a personal level, I'm not sure the latest expansions would draw me to purchase the epic versions or even other cosmetics if I didn't have the ability to pay for them with gold. This is coming from someone who bought Warcraft 3 Reforged and only uses the mount and never played the updated version!
Had that been my real money, I would've deemed it too frivolous and not purchased. That's just me, everyone has
