Amazing Karlach Cosplay Shows Off The Baldur's Gate 3 Tiefling In The Modern Age
A new cosplay of Karlach from is showcasing the beloved companion outside her regular fantasy-based setting and, instead, brining her into the modern age. Karlach is one of the many recruitable companions, alongside characters like Shadowheart, Astarion, and Wyll. When players make it to the entrance of the Emerald Grove, they will likely hear about Karlach from Wyll, as he is bound to hunt her down. Nevertheless, players can later encounter her and discover she is not the demon she is described as and, in fact, is one of the best companions in .
To pay homage to the tiefling, the artist known as Zureeal made a post on Reddit with a series of pictures of them in a modern-style Karlach cosplay. Instead of wearing torn medieval clothing, fitting for a barbarian, the cosplayer dons themselves with modern torn jeans and a stylized sweater.
As mentioned by the artist, this is a test and not yet the complete cosplay – at this point, it is uncertain if the cosplay will be faithful to the original material of or if it will continue to take on this stylized modern age approach. In another post on Reddit, Zureeal shows how Karlach’s wig is more of a solid piece resembling a helmet rather than an actual wig.
Despite being very beloved by the community, Karlach is one of the most underappreciated characters in the game. In comparison to the likes of Shadowheart, Astarion, and Lae’zel, Karlach ends up being a friend left in the corner.
The tiefling has one of the most agreeable personalities in the game and one of the kindest hearts as well, and establishing a connection with her is a lot easier than doing it with the likes of Shar’s chosen or the half-elf vampire, for instance. In fact, even romancing Karlach in is quite easy, as long as players are virtuous.
The original conclusion of the character’s story in the game was also tragic and quite unfitting. Luckily, that was fixed with Patch 5, which added more content to the epilogue to give Karlach the ending she deserved.
