Stardew Valley creator Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone recently gave fans a brief update on the console and mobile versions of the 1.6 update. Stardew Valley was released a whopping eight years ago, but the game is still receiving significant new updates. Just recently, Stardew Valley released Update 1.6, one of the game's biggest post-launch updates ever, but it's so far only available to PC gamers.
Not long ago, Stardew Valley Update 1.6 released on PC, giving fans on that platform the chance to experience new festivals, character interactions, quality of life improvements, and more endgame content. Stardew Valley Update 1.6 fueled a renaissance for the beloved game, helping it break its Steam concurrent player count record in the process. Needless to say, there are many Stardew Valley players on console and mobile that are excited to experience the 1.6 update for themselves, but it remains to be seen exactly when the update will drop on those platforms.
Stardew Valley fans on PS4, Xbox, Switch, and mobile still don't know exactly when they will get to play Update 1.6. ConcernedApe did provide fans with a brief message addressing the situation, though. Taking to Twitter, he confirmed that Update 1.6 is still in progress for the console and mobile versions of Stardew Valley, and it will «be released as soon as possible.» ConcernedApe promised to give fans updates whenever there is anything significant to share. He wrapped his message by saying that he appreciates fans' «patience and understanding» when it comes to Update 1.6 on console and mobile.
Whenever Update 1.6 comes to the other versions of Stardew Valley, it will likely be more polished than the version that was initially released for PC. After releasing Update 1.6 for the PC version of Stardew Valley, some fresh bugs were discovered that were then quickly squashed in subsequent updates. Presumably, these bugs will already be removed in the version of 1.6 that's in the works for console and mobile gamers.
