A Stardew Valley fan jokingly asked for Pelican Town's slightly off-center fountain to be the headlining improvement in a hypothetical 1.7 update. While the request could be included in a future Stardew Valley patch, it might be a while seeing that the game just received a major update.
Stardew Valley's Update 1.6 dropped in mid-March and added tons of features to the enduring indie game. In fact, the update was so popular that it led Stardew Valley to reach its highest player count ever on Steam, topping out at over 236,000 concurrent users. Fans have enjoyed the update's additions like new crops, UI elements, a farm layout, and much more. Now that it's been nearly a month since 1.6 was released, fans are already looking toward the future and have one improvement in particular in mind.
Reddit user pasios_finest posted a thread to the Stardew Valley subreddit titled «Please make 1.7 the fountain centering update,» with an image of the fountain southwest of Pelican Town's Community Center. The fountain seems perfectly normal at first glance, but after closer inspection, users will notice that its statue that spouts water is just barely off-center to the right. In addition to being off-center from left to right, the statue is also off-center from front to back, but that second attribute clearly seems to be intentional. The post quickly accrued thousands of upvotes, as other Stardew Valley fans sarcastically criticized pasios_finest for making them aware of the minor but unsatisfying issue.
Seeing that the post has gone semi-viral, Stardew Valley creator Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone may already be aware of the minor problem and could be planning to implement it in a future update, although this is just speculation. On the other hand, minor issues like this one don't affect gameplay and could be considered part of the game's hand-crafted charm.
