Player Gold Cap Increased to 99 Trillion in Diablo 4 Season 4
Updated patch notes released after the recent Developer Update highlight an interesting change that may have flown under the radar — the player gold cap has been massively increased from 9 trillion to 99 trillion!

Diablo IV Patch Notes — May 2, 2024:
- The Gold cap has been increased from 9 trillion to 99 trillion.
This is likely a direct response to the wealthiest players using Gold to buy and sell Boss Summoning Materials in Season 3. That said, crafting and upgrading items through Masterworking is going to be a key feature of Season 4, and optimizing gear is going to cost a pretty penny. We expect that only roughly the top 1% of players will feel the effects of this change, while the rest continue living pay-cache to pay-cache, but it's a welcome change for those with deep pockets.
