Nintendo have announced that this June will see the end of integration of X, formerly Twitter, on Nintendo Switch. They have supported the platform much longer than the rival consoles, Xbox lost Twitter in April 2023 with PlayStation following suit in November of the same year.
No reason has been given as to why support has been dropped although the massive cost increase to use the Twitter API, introduced by Elon Musk, may have something to do with it. Twitter is also a shadow of it’s former self with many advertisers and companies refusing to use the platform due to the amount of hate speech and abuse that can be found.
