Hideo Kojima and Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake have teased a mysterious project they're involved in at Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima is known for working with a number of high-profile actors and creators and inserting their likenesses into his games. For example, Death Stranding characters Deadman, Sam Bridges, and Cliff were based on full-body scans of Guillermo del Toro, Norman Reedus, and Mads Mikkelsen, respectively. Some of Kojima Productions' upcoming games will continue using high-profile actors and their likenesses, including Death Stranding 2 and OD.
Among the creators who are collaborating with Kojima is Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake. Lake is Remedy's creative director, known for writing and directing games at the studio. Lake is also very well-known for being the face of Max Payne himself, as likenesses of his face were used for the titular protagonist. Sam Lake had also appeared in the first Death Stranding as a part of a series of cameos alongside other famous faces like Geoff Keighley and Japanese musician Daichi Miura. It appears that Sam Lake will be lending his image again to another Kojima Productions project.
A series of tweets by both Sam Lake and Hideo Kojima were posted online earlier this weekend, which showed the two game creators hanging out at the studio. One of these tweets posted by Lake includes a TikTok video of him having a cup of coffee while surrounded by full-body scan equipment. His tweet notes that he is having the coffee after being scanned for a video game in development at Kojima Productions. Lake stated that he was honored to visit Kojima Productions and praised Hideo Kojima for the setup as well.
The tweet itself omits any details about the game that he was scanned for, meaning that Sam Lake could be involved in any of the three games fans know that are in development at the studio. Currently, Kojima Productions is working on Death Stranding 2, the Xbox Exclusive OD, and a PlayStation exclusive Metal
