Keen Games has shared an overview of the 2024 content roadmap for Enshrouded. The move saw the developer list over 40 new features, tweaks, and general improvements that are planned to reach Enshrouded over the following ten months.
The German studio released the early access version of Enshrouded in late January. The second-ever title from the Portal Knights developer is a co-op survival ARPG for up to 16 players. Keen Games is planning to follow up on this Steam-only early access period with a full-fledged release for PC and the current-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles in late 2024.
The developer has now also shared a comprehensive overview of what to expect from Enshrouded in the meantime. Taking to Twitter on March 13, Keen Games revealed the RPG's early access content roadmap listing 42 features and improvements that it's currently working on. 36 of those are planned to debut as part of the «next few updates,» the studio said, noting that it prioritized the items on its agenda based on player feedback. Its current priorities include new Enshrouded building materials, enemies, and bosses, as well as features such as animal farming and a vanity system.
Keen Games is also working on expanding the already sizable number of Enshrouded locations, having promised that an entirely new Mountains biome and Hollow Halls dungeons will be part of its next several updates. Some unspecified location improvements are also on the company's agenda, as are the additions of enemy patrols, potted plants, round doors and windows, and the ability to sit on furniture. Likewise, the developer is planning to soon allow players to name their bases and custom map markers, in addition to rolling out townsfolk NPCs, pets, and a weather system.
Enshrouded's near-term content roadmap also includes the promise of better quest sorting, stack splitting, and performance. Steam Deck support, musical instruments, named tombstones, and the ability to reassign the glider shortcut are all set to debut
