Honkai: Star Rail has revealed Boothill as a new playable character, confirming his path and rarity in a drip marketing campaign. Boothill will be one of the obtainable units in version 2.2, which should be released in May 2024, based on HoYoverse's usual update schedule. Alongside the cowboy-themed unit, Honkai: Star Rail version 2.2 will promote Robin, a recurring character in the Penacony story. One thing to note is that players will get more information about these units in the official livestream that will take place on March 16.

The cowboy-themed Penacony character has a powerful ultimate, which delays enemies' turns and makes them vulnerable to physical damage. Though Honkai: Star Rail is in the second part of version 2.0, the developers have already confirmed a new five-star character for 2.2, Robin, who treads the Path of Harmony.
