NVIDIA's board partners are reportedly increasing the prices of various GeForce RTX 40 & RTX 30 GPUs in China which is a stark contrast to what's happening in the US markets.
The report comes from Chinese Board Channels forums where it is reported that NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 40 & RTX 30 GPUs will see a partner-specific price hike of up to 10%. These price hikes mainly come after they are notified by NVIDIA of the changes but it is unclear if that was the case or if the AIBs decided to take these actions by themselves which is very rarely the case.
As of right now, NVIDIA's China partners such as ASUS, Colorful, GALAX, Gigabyte & ZOTAC have slated out price increments on several models including the GeForce RTX 4090D. While the price hikes may seem small, they can affect the sales or positioning of these gaming products in China where the competition is very heated among certain products.
For example, the GeForce RTX 4060 is priced at 50 RMB more could lead to the card losing its value big time against the likes of the Radeon RX 6750 GRE series and the same is true for the 4070 SUPER, 4070, and 4060 Ti which are competing against the RX 7900 GRE and similar models from last-gen such as the RX 6800/6900 series which often offer better value propositions.
