Pokemon GO developer Niantic has added Latin American Spanish language support to the game. This significant update arrives alongside a month-long in-game celebration designed to welcome and engage Pokemon GO's LATAM players.
Since its launch all the way back in 2016, Pokemon GO has been downloaded over 1 billion times and currently sits at around 81 million active players worldwide. Although not as popular as it used to be, Pokemon GO is still fun to play in 2024. Niantic has consistently strived to expand the beloved mobile game's accessibility by introducing new languages and features, but the lack of support for Latin American Spanish stuck out for many players in the region. To commemorate the launch of Latin American Spanish support for Pokemon GO, a festive in-game event kicks off on May 5 and continues until June 15. In addition to new limited-time boxes available for purchase in the in-game shop, here's a breakdown of the exciting offerings for LATAM trainers:
Players who complete Field Research tasks throughout the event will also be rewarded with encounters with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Some Field Research tasks will even gift candies for the aforementioned Pokemon, with others awarding players with Mega Energy for Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise. A special Timed Research available until June 15 (8PM local time) also incentivizes players with a Star Piece, Super Incubator, Rare Candy, and encounters with Lapras and Snorlax upon completion.
Niantic will also provide a special Timed Research every weekend during the event from May 5 (2PM local time) to June 15 (8PM local time). Players who complete the Timed Research will receive rewards like Razz Berries, Nanab Berries, Pinap Berries, Incense, Poke Balls, and Great Balls. For those jumping in for the first time, do note
