Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is almost guaranteed to be released before the end of the year, judging from a legal document that's been circulated online.
As reported by Enomis on X/Twitter, Bandai Namco has six months to demonstrate the commercial use of the trademark or to request an extension, which apparently never happened with the latest games based on the series created by Akira Toriyama. As such, there's an extremely good chance Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will be released before the end of the year, as suggested in a new rating a few days back.
On a related note, it seems like one of the core features of the Budokai Tenkaichi series will be coming back in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO. The game's PlayStation Store listing was updated today to include a 2-player local multiplayer tag, suggesting splitscreen multiplayer will be in alongside online multiplayer. This is great news, as the original listing on both the PlayStation Store and Steam did not list local multiplayer.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO launches on a yet-to-be-confirmed release date on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. It is being said the release date will be officially revealed soon, so it won't take too long to learn if the new entry in the series will indeed launch in the next six months or so.
