Almost every time the real size of a Pokemon has ever been revealed to me, I've been left in shock. Whether it's the reveal that me and Charizard would see eye-to-eye, or that Slowpoke is almost five feet long, Pokemon are usually either a lot bigger or a lot smaller than you're expecting them to be. Its collection of life-size plushes is one of the ways in which Pokemon fans discover how big some 'mons really are, and Larvesta is the latest addition to the range that has left trainers in shock.
The Pokemon Company added a life-size Larvesta plush to Pokemon Center Japan this week, available to pre-order now and expected to ship in November. As you can see in the first images of the large Larvesta plush, turns out when you're standing next to one in the games, thanks to the horns around its head it will almost reach your waist. According to Pokeshopper.net, it's almost three feet tall and four feet long.
This revelation might be a little harder to swallow for certain Pokemon fans, particularly those who don't handle being around bugs well in the real world. Larvesta is effectively a four-foot-long bug. Best not to think about that too much and just focus on its plush equivalent. There are a couple of bits of bad news on that front too, though. Not only will it cost you $300 to add Larvesta to your collection, but for the time being, it's only available in Japan.
That doesn't mean it will stay that way forever. While I'm not sure what metrics are measured or what the threshold is that makes Pokemon execs think, "Okay, that's enough, let everyone else have it," but eventually, certain items are released outside of Japan. Earlier this week Pokemon's incredibly popular Soda Pop plushes were added to the Pokemon Center in the US after previously being Japan-exclusive products.
