Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the Definitive Version of SMT V, is Out Now
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, the definitive version of Shin Megami Tensei V, released earlier this week for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
SMT V: Vengeance includes updated visuals for modern consoles and PC, a new ‘Vengeance’ story route, 40 new demons, additional demon guides, new sub quests, raised level cap and new Godborn difficulty, and tons of other tweaks and improvements.
Vengeance adds a number of quality of life changes that are sure to be welcome additions to players familiar and new. The following are just a small selection of the many changes included in this version of the game:
- Magatsu Rails allow players to access new areas and seek out new demons and items.
- The New Testament Tablet can be used to respec the player’s attributes.
- Sky View allows players to look around the immediate area from a, well, sky view, helpful for ensuring that nothing important is missed.
- Players can now save anywhere, no longer needing to visit the nearest Leyline Fount. A feature sure to be particularly helpful when playing on higher difficulty levels.
Those who have save data from the original version of the game on the Nintendo Switch can receive a number of bonuses, including the registration of up to three demons in Vengeance’s Demon Compendium.
