Located within the greatest depths of Khaz Algar lies Azj-Kahet the last kingdom of the Nerubians with its heart dominated by the massively sprawling City of Threads. In this first look we'll explore this expansive yet treacherous metropolis as we seek to infiltrate the Nerubian capital and thwart Queen Ansurek's plot with Xal'atath within Nerub'ar Palace.
Nerub'ar Palace Raid Overview
The sheer size of the City of Threads should not be underestimated as it certainly dwarfs the likes of Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and even Suramar, as it should for the kingdom of an ancient Azerothian race.
It's not just the sheer area either, but also the verticality and depth of the city that further promotes its remarkable size. While you can traverse this city on foot via the normal web-covered pathways, skyriding feels almost mandatory to explore the heights and depths of the capital.
The verticality isn't just for show either but is part of the rich history and current narrative of the Nerubians. The City of Threads has been built and rebuilt on top of itself over and over. The lower districts in the Burrows and the dungeon of Ara-Kara, City of Echoes left to decay while the highest districts like the High Hollows or the Transformatory are reserved for wealthier denizens and those in the favor of and most loyal to Queen Ansurek and her promise of Ascension.
Players must navigate the divisive politics between the different factions and denizens of the City of Threads to attempt to find allies and thwart the plans of Queen Ansurek and Xal'atath.
Due to the dark nature of their environment, Nerubians rely heavily on touch and smell instead of sight to observe their surroundings.
Allies we gather during the level up campaign use pheromones to disguise us allowing nearly free reign of the City of Threads as long as Ascended guards don't sniff through our
