We have a pair of rumors indicating that Activision is gearing up for their reveal of the next Call of Duty game.
As reported by Insider Gaming, they plan to give the next Call of Duty a ‘traditional’ announcement. In other words, the next game will be revealed similarly to Call of Duty Vanguard in 2021, which will be quite an experience for the considerably large and active fanbase.
As described in Wikipedia, the first teases of Call of Duty Vanguard happened in Call of Duty Warzone, where winners of battle royales were sniped by protagonist Polina Petrova in new animations replacing their extraction cutscenes. They then got to play a special time limited mode called The Battle of Verdansk, which ended with the official reveal trailer for Call of Duty Vanguard.
Insider Gaming ties their sources’ information to the rumor shared by The Verge. The Verge reports that the next Call of Duty’s release date will be announced in this year’s Xbox Games Showcase, the event that is being held in what was once known as E3 month, in June.
Insider Gaming then claims that the reveal is happening before Summer Games Fest, which means that it could actually come sometime between this month and May. Activision’s reveal will have a form of deep dive, possibly a campaign mission similar to what we described above for Call of Duty Vanguard. Details about multiplayer and Zombies will then come in August.
And, of course, Insider Gaming reviewed prior rumors they already shared about the game, that it is expected to release in October, and that the title is expected to be Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War.
Their rumors go on that this game will cover events that happened in the background of the war itself, with US agents preparing for an infiltration. They also stated that this game will be set in an open world, which will be a major evolution for the franchise if true.
Of course, the big thing we all have to remember here, is even if Activision has in the past allowed Call of Duty rumors
