Apple is working on its next big iOS 17 update which will see the light of day soon. The company released iOS 17.4 with a handful of major changes that affect the general public and developers on a system level. The company finally allows iPhone users in the EU to sideload apps and install third-party app stores. Apple is now working to release its next iOS 17.5 update for the iPhone, which currently rests in the beta phase.
iOS 17.5 will house numerous additions focusing on changes and improvements for features oriented towards users in the EU. Despite these changes, the update will also include a plethora of front-facing utilities. Today, Apple announced a new Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop Apple Watch band with a dedicated watch face and wallpaper.
According to Apple's press release, iOS 17.5 will be released 'soon' alongside additional updates for the Apple Watch, Mac, Vision Pro, and iPad. However, the company did not mention the exact date or time, but we can speculate when the next update might hit your devices. Apple is expected to host its 'Let Loose' event tomorrow where it will see fit to announce the new OLED iPad Pro and M2 iPad Air models.
That said, Apple could announce iOS 17.5 and other updates at its 'Let Loose' event tomorrow. Moreover, the update will be accompanied by iPadOS 17.5. It was previously reported that the company is working on a dedicated iPadOS 17.5 update which will bring the necessary features for the new OLED iPad Pro. While it is possible that the update could be released over the air after the iPad Pro event, we have seen in the past that Apple releases release candidate builds of major updates ahead of their final release.
In this case, we might have to wait another week for iOS 17.5 to release.
