Hades 2 is finally out now in early access, giving us all the chance to jump in and give protagonist Melinoe a spin for the first time. Of course, Hades 2 isn't fully feature complete yet, with multiple big updates planned for later this year and in 2025, so questions have been raised as to exactly how much Hades 2 we'll get to play before we hit a wall. Thankfully, developer Supergiant is on hand to clear that up.
To put it bluntly, Hades 2 is already a significant package as it stands, chock-full of new features, Gods, and more, but I don't think many people expected Supergiant to release a full game's worth of content. According to the game's FAQ page on Steam, Supergiant has claimed that Hades 2 as it stands currently has more content in it than the original Hades' full launch.
Hades II in Early Access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game.
Despite that, Supergiant also says that it is nowhere near ready to release the full game, as it just isn't complete yet. It's stated on the FAQ page that Supergiant still has plenty of things to add, including "key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems," as well as the "true ending to the story," so it definitely seems like Hades 2 isn't just more of the same and Supergiant is currently undertaking a more ambitious project.
Given the scale that Supergiant is talking about, we can probably expect the game's full release to be a ways off just yet. While the developer hasn't given us a date of any kind just yet, it has been confirmed that the game will remain in early access throughout 2024. That means all of you who are waiting to experience the title fresh, or do your gaming on consoles, will more than likely have another torturous year to wait before you can jump in.
Still, at least you know that when you finally can get your hands on Hades 2, you'll know that there's a beefy game waiting for you. You can also check out
