Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is about a month, but fans can go hands-on early with its demo. It’s currently available for PS4 and PS5, though there’s no native version for the latter. Progress transfers to the game at launch, allowing one to get a head-start.
Set in the Calvard Republic several months after Trails of Cold Steel 4 and Trails into Reverie, Daybreak focuses on Van Arkride, a Spriggan. Part-mercenary, part-detective, he’s intertwined in a case with Agnès Claudel, who seeks to recover her great-grandfather’s Orbment. Of course, other characters get involved, like Feri Al-Fayed, a Jaeger searching for her friend.
The latest trailer also showcases Bergard Zeman, a Kunlun master and Van’s teacher. Along with a Law and Chaos Alignment system affecting party members and events, there are options to switch between real-time and command-based combat in field battles.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak arrives on July 5th for PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for updates till then.
