Ever since suffering a catastrophic leak back in December 2023, plans regarding almost all of developer Insomniac Games' titles have been made public, with more and more info being released at a steady pace. Over the past few months, we've seen trailers and early builds of Marvel's Wolverine leak, release windows for future titles, and a trailer for an already canceled multiplayer Spider-Man game called The Great Web which fans are desperate to try and save.
Now a new leak has the webslinger back in the spotlight once again, this time regarding the third game in Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man series. Details about the title are scarce, mainly due to the fact that it's still years away from being announced, but we could have got our first look at one of the game's main villains. If you haven't finished Marvel's Spider-Man 2, be warned, as we're heading into spoiler territory.
If you're still with me, you'll know that the events of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 see Venom forcibly removed at great cost to host Harry Osborne. Miles uses his powers to bring Harry back from the brink of death, but only for him to sink into a coma. Harry's dad, Norman Osborne, then enters the scene via helicopter (as he likes to do) and blames the Spider-Men for Harry's condition, gets super angry, and goes to the imprisoned Otto Octavius for their identities and presumably revenge.
Spider-Man fans will know that Norman Osborne is often portrayed as the Green Goblin, one of the more iconic villains of the series that has yet to appear in Insomniac's universe. It feels as though this tease at the end of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is setting up the sequel for his arrival, and this recent leak has given us our first potential look at what Insomniac's version of the Green Goblin may actually look like.
