Sony Electronics and Square Enix have announced the official gaming television for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The second entry of the FF7 remake project has become one of 2024’s most anticipated games for most, and with just over a month to go before its release, fans are understandably excited.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth continues the story of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and picks up after Cloud and company leave the city of Midgar to pursue his archnemesis, Sephiroth, to prevent him from destroying the world. The remake project is planned as a trilogy with the first game changing the story of Final Fantasy 7 in some significant ways thanks to the Whispers, and, in doing so, is keeping the narrative fresh and exciting for both newcomers and old fans of the original game.
When Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releases on February 29, gamers can experience the beauty of the world of Gaia on the Sony BRAVIA XR TV, the official television of the game. Gamers will not have any exclusive benefits to playing the title on Sony’s official television, but according to a press release from Sony Electronics, it comes with several features to make their experiences smoother. The TV boasts Auto HDR Tone Mapping, which will allow players to have the best HDR settings when first setting up the PS5 and television. Another graphics-related feature is the Auto-Genre Picture Mode, which will switch automatically between a Standard Mode designed for watching movies and a Game Mode, which will “minimize lag and maximize responsiveness.”
Additionally, players will be able to increase the brightness of dark areas as well as turn off the Variable Refresh Rate, and reduce motion blur thanks to a dedicated Game Menu. This menu will also allow players to change the size and split the display screen in order to both watch videos and play games.
