A Palword player found a new way to keep their entire base lit at night by using a makeshift invention. Base building is a core aspect of Palworld, giving players good reason to think up new ways to improve their bases.
Palworld was released on January 19 and immediately became a hit. Many fans call it "Pokemon with guns," as it blends Pokemon's classic elements with the popular survival genre. The game's unique formula clearly struck gold following Palword's massive opening sales numbers. The new game from Japanese developer Pocket Pair has already sold five million copies, despite it still being unreleased on PlayStation. Fortunately for those who have gotten to dive into Palworld, players are beginning to discover ingenious ways to make the game slightly easier.
Reddit user Kenobi-Kun posted a screenshot that showed their new invention, an impromptu lamppost. They explained that it can be used to keep an entire base permanently lit at night, negating the need to relight torches. Kenobi-Kun achieved this by stacking four large stools on top of each other and adding a campfire on top. They further explained that users can only stack two stools normally. To place the next stools, players will either need to jump from the ground or build an elevated platform next to the lamppost. One might think that the makeshift lamppost would be an eyesore in a Palworld base, but it looks surprisingly neat. Normally, users would have to regularly re-light their base's torches, which many players view as an annoying task.
Alternatively, Palworld users can recruit Fire Pals to light their base's torches. However, this solution keeps said Pals from performing other more influential duties like smelting ore. Kenobi-Kun's solution might be the best, most efficient option for base lighting that's currently available. However, not all the fanbase's discoveries have been so practical.
