Ever since the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer released last month, fans have spent almost every waking minute tearing it to pieces for new info. That's how we know most of it is made up of real-life events, and how we have theories such as the balcony girl in the bikini being the main character in disguise, and the inclusion of an ankle monitor that could potentially limit early game exploration.
Now that the bones of the trailer have been well and truly picked clean, fans are turning their attention to more ridiculous discoveries to pass the time until 2025. For example, one fan recently set about proving what SPF sunscreen is being used by a certain NPC on the beach in the opening 20 seconds of the trailer. First reported by PC Gamer, a fan by the name of Ficerc posted their giant essay about this topic to the GTA subreddit, complete with graphs and mathematical equations.
To start with, Ficerc set about determining the skin tone of the woman using the sunscreen, as the color of a person determines what SPF sunscreen you need for protection. To do this, they bust out the Fitzpatrick Skin Score table and figured out a series of mathematical equations to make it fit an information table about SPF by sunscreen brand Banana Boat.
After determining the woman's skin tone, Ficerc then went about figuring out the time of day in the trailer, as the length of time you spend in the sun determines the strength of sunscreen that you need. In order to figure this out, Ficern used the length and location of the shadows that beach goers are casting, along with a map of the real-life Miami Beach and a sun path diagram to determine the location of the sun.
With this info, they figure out that the sun is setting, as well as the angle
