Yakuza and the Like a Dragon series has, for the most part, always been incredibly welcoming and inclusive, featuring loads of side quests with positive views on a range of sexualities and backgrounds. Longtime series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu is considered a staunch ally, always keen to lift up the marginalized and downtrodden, but we've yet to get any LGBTQ+ representation of note when it comes to protagonists.
So far, the only two characters we have with even the slightest inkling of being LGBTQ+ are Jun Oda and Yoshitaka Mine, both of whom never really express their true feelings towards their bosses, Tetsu Tachibana and Daigo Dojima, in any meaningful way. While not an outright confirmation, as the series does like to tiptoe around the topic on occasion, this single sentence is enough to convince fans that developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios has made Seonhee the first protagonist in the series to be part of the LGBTQ+ community. That would be pretty huge when it comes to the future diversity of the Like a Dragon games, especially with a character as popular as Seonhee is.
