Bungie staff hit with layoffs
Workers at Destiny maker Bungie are facing layoffs.
That's according to Bloomberg, which reports that an undisclosed number of staff are set to lose their jobs in the near future. Taking to Twitter, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons (pictured) said that it was a "sad day" to see these employees go.
"Today is a sad day at Bungie as we say goodbye to colleagues who have all made a significant impact on our studio," he wrote. "What these exceptional individuals have contributed to our games and Bungie culture has been enormous and will continue to be a part of Bungie long into the future.
"These are truly talented people. If you have openings, I would highly recommend each and every one of them."
Bungie was acquired by PlayStation maker Sony in 2021 for $3.6 billion. Bloomberg also reports that the final expansion for Destiny 2 – The Final Shape – is being delayed until February of next year, while the company's upcoming Marathon has been bumped to 2025.
