Apple in September launched the new iOS 17 update in which it introduced various features for eligible iPhone users. With these changes to iOS, Siri has also been upgraded to manage certain commands. These new capabilities will enable users to have a more improved smartphone experience. One such activity Siri can perform is the ability to read out loud web page articles when given the command. So, if you are someone who does not want to read and prefers to listen to text, just like audiobooks, then know how to make Siri read out loud for you.
Before getting into details, know that the read Siri feature will only work in iPhone's Safari and the voice assistance will respond to any other third-party app. Furthermore, make sure the website you open has a “Reader View” so the ads or images do not interrupt your listening.
Now, the below steps will enable Siri to read the eligible web pages:
- First, open the Safari app on your iPhone.
- Open any web page you want to listen to.
- Below you'll see an “Aa” button in which the “Listen to Page” option would be available.
- Now you'll have to activate Siri so it can listen to your command. Say “Siri read this” or “I want to listen to this page”.
- Siri will start reading the page out loud to you.
The media player for Safari will also appear in front of the page which will enable you to pause, rewind, or fast-forward the listening. Now, you will not have to put effort and time into reading each word when you can just listen to Siri reading the article. Furthermore, users do not have to use prefixes such as “Hey” to activate Siri, simply say the name of the voice assistant's name and it will reply to your command instantly.
