Five Nights at Freddy's is chock full of Easter Eggs and references, from a Golden Freddy that went over most people's heads (myself included) to Dream Theory to... MatPat. Strange times. But there's another little nod some of you may have missed that could be setting up Shadow Freddy for the sequel.

In the movie, security guard Mike Schmidt hires a babysitter called Max to look after his sister while he's working. However, she betrays him and takes part in a plan to trash Freddy's to get him fired so that his aunt can take custody of his sister. But the place is filled with bloodthirsty animatronics, so she gets sliced in half and crammed into an old suit.
"She was killed by Freddy," @G0LD3NR4BB1T said. "Not only that, she was killed by Freddy's *SHADOW* which was likely a clever way to make the kill off-screen (to keep the PG-13 rating) and also hint towards the whole Shadow Freddy thing. Later in the movie we see her body stuffed inside of the Shadow Freddy suit, and if this movie has established anything, it's that being stuffed in a suit [means] you will possess that suit."
Being forced into the suit itself after a death scene portrayed via shadows is about as on the nose as it gets, but if you're like me and didn't go into this movie well-versed on FNAF's story, I doubt you caught this detail. Let me stick on my ol' lore hat and tell you who Shadow Freddy is.
They first appeared as an Easter Egg in FNAF 2, slumped over in the dark. At first glance, they just look like Golden Freddy. But when the brightness is turned up, it reveals that they are actually purple. In FNAF 3, they became a secondary villain. They would lure the animatronics away
