Remedy Entertainment has rolled out a major new Alan Wake 2 update across all platforms, including over 200 improvements and fixes.
As said, this new patch packs over 200 changes, including PC-specific improvements as well as mission-specific fixes. The new patch updates the game version to 1.00.08 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PC, this patch updates the game to version 1.08. There are some interesting changes mentioned in the release notes, including minor improvements to image aliasing in the game's Performance Mode and on Xbox Series S (which only includes one visual mode).
In addition, this update contains fixes for various audio-related issues as well as several graphical issues in the game's environments. Also, this update improves the game's lighting, improves auto-aiming, addresses some map issues, and much more. As for the PC-specific fixes, this patch adds drag-and-drop support for the inventory, addresses some mouse issues, and fixes a bug that could cause graphics settings to reset when launching Alan Wake 2.
You can find the full patch notes for this new major Alan Wake 2 update on Remedy's official website here. Earlier patches included various bug fixes as well as localization fixes.
Alan Wake 2 is available worldwide now (digitally) for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. As covered yesterday, the game appears to run somewhat smoother on Xbox Series X compared to PlayStation 5, maintaining an almost-steady 60FPS in Performance mode and 30FPS in Quality Mode. It will be interesting to see whether updates will address some of the, albeit minor, performance dips on Sony's console.
