It’s the end of another week, and it seems that the stopped clock of GTA 6 rumours has finally come right. “The next Grand Theft Auto” is actually going to be revealed in December! Shocked faces all round!
But we cannot play it any time soon, so we’ve all had some other games on the go instead.
Aran is getting in on the ground floor with SteamWorld Build, getting to work on our review of the latest game in this endlessly varied franchise. I played it a couple months ago, and there’s a really interesting blend of surface level and below ground mining, all with that familiar SteamWorld aesthetic.
It’s been two of the biggest games of the year for Gamoc, who finished off Spider-Man 2’s story – “I don’t mean to shock anyone, but it was good.” – and also worked his way through the Modern Warfare 3 campaign for our review. You can read his thoughts on that here.
Steve had a fantastic time playing through Alan Wake 2, even if it was a little bit buggy and has some pacing issues in places. When it clicks, though, “The highs are some of the greatest moments I’ve experienced in nearly 40 years of gaming,” he said. He’s also played a bunch of horror demos for Halloween, though none really gabbed him, so he turned to the “beautifully meditative and atmospheric” Jusant, and then got back to Astral Chain on Switch.
Jusant is also on Dom’s play list, but he’s looking to finish off Gravity Rush Remastered first, and had things like Retro Drive Revamped and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord on the go for review.
Nick P snagged the platinum trophies for both Spider-Man 2 and Alan Wake, which are a pair of pretty big achievements! He also started on Final Fantasy XVI, which has been a pleasant time so far – “I find I don’t need to concentrate
