BioWare is teasing Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in a new trailer unveiled for Dragon Age Day. The teaser passes over a map of Thedas with several voiceovers giving some hint of what’s on the horizon when the game releases.
With the release of the teaser, it comes with the ominous caption “This is Thedas. Enjoy it while it lasts”. Several voiceovers, seemingly leaders of each depicted region, Antiva, Rivain, The Anderfels and Weisshaupt, HQ of the Grey Wardens, are preparing for some kind of fight. The final voiceover says “All the world will soon share the peace and comfort of my reign”. Let the community speculation begin.
A blog accompanying the teaser opens up on some of the new locations we'll get a chance to visit, and offers a couple of other messages from Game Director Corinne Busche and Mark Darrah, who is back as a senior production advisor.
“To celebrate DA Day, we’re sharing a look at a few of the in-game locations you’ll explore on this new adventure (and perhaps a little more for those who listen closely). The stage is set. The Dread Wolf is ready to make his move.”
With the new teaser, they have promised a full reveal of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in summer 2024. With The Game Awards on the way this Thursday and other events in between, this should at least stave off questions of whether now’s the time for a big reveal. It isn’t. “We know how much this world means to all of you, how these experiences stay with you. We want to get it right, so we’ve taken our time,” they say in the devblog.
This year,BioWare experienced some significant layoffs, with 50 people let go, including some veteran
