Upcoming Survival MMO The Day Before has been delayed again, to the shock of no one. A post on the official The Day Before Twitter account confirmed that the legal battle over the right to keep the games name, and that the Store Page had been restored by Valve. But the same post also revealed that the games release had been pushed back to December 7 at 10 a.m. PT.

The post also announced that “since this is our first huge game”, the decision was made to launch The Day Before into Early Access as opposed to being a full release. Also, the price will be $39 for Early Access and then raised to $49 when the full version releases later.
I can’t say I’m surprised about the delay, as we were nearing the previous release date without any recent information. However, it is a bit telling to last minute consider a game Early Access as opposed to fully releasing.
For reference, Steam has different rules for Early Access releases.
“Steam Early Access enables you to sell your game on Steam while it is still being developed, and provide context to customers that a product should be considered “unfinished.” Early Access is a place for games that are in a playable alpha or beta state, are worth the current value of the playable build, and that you plan to continue to develop for release.”
The Day Before is now scheduled to release on Steam on December 7.
