Guild Wars 2 ’s World vs. World restructuring beta got underway today, but the team is addressing an issue with matchmaking on the EU side. ArenaNet is also previewing the next major balance update, due January 30th.
The World versus World beta began today, with everyone who was interested in being on the same side as their guild having to have locked that in yesterday. Matchmaking, which is one of the vital systems they’re testing in this beta, with the intention of opening 24/7 WvV, is having issues on the EU side. The team promises updates as they work to identify the issue and fix it so that the beta can proceed as planned.

According to balance lead Cal “cmc” Cohen, this is a smaller update, with much of it structured to address some of the issues that came from the November update. Since it is a smaller and focused update, there won't be a preview live stream.
Outside of addressing November issues, there are changes meant to prepare for the eventual new weapons and proficiencies that had recently been in beta testing. Those weapon changes will open things up to new styles and offer new options to all classes. Another thing addressed in this patch will be improving some underperforming relics., a process that began in November.
Overall, we can expect some tuning for each class in order to bring classes into better balance, with changes addressing both PvE and PvP conditions. As for the new weapons on the way, some changes in this patch
