Giant Squid Returns With Sword-Surfing Adventure Sword of the Sea - Hardcore Gamer
With titles such as Abzu and The Pathless under their belt, developers Giant Squid certainly know how to create some rather stylish and thrilled adventures. And now, during today’s PlayStation showcase, they’ve announced their return with another such game, Sword of the Sea. But what makes this particular game stand out from the others is one particular gameplay element: Surfing. Rarely is there a third-person game that isn’t improved by letting you hover across the ground in some way or another, and Sword of the Sea goes one step further by letting you surf around on a massive sword, as seen in the trailer below.
Naturally, we should point out that there’s also a story in the game about a being known as the Wraith who’s tasked by restoring life to a desolate world, traversing through ruins of submerged ships, battlefields and more as you restore marine life, all while having to deal with massive leviathans. But really, it’s all about that sword surfing. Who could resist it? Sword of the Sea is heading to PC and PS5 with no announced release window yet, but stay tuned for more details as they arrive.
