Although updates for continue to make improvements to the game, one issue with the game's multiplayer still has yet to be addressed. Despite building a good reputation for its deep RPG gameplay, ambitiously-sized world, and reactivity to player choice, has been plagued by numerous bugs and glitches since launch, and although many of the game's most major issues have been fixed by post-launch updates, some have persisted.
After its successful launch, has received several major updates which have fixed long-standing bugs, cleaned up unintended interactions, and even added entirely new features like the crushingly difficult Honour Mode. Most recently, 's Patch 6 added improvements to player romances, a number of quality-of-life changes, minor additions to Honour Mode, and yet more bug fixes. However, while the game's various updates and patches have successfully fixed many of its biggest issues, one annoying multiplayer problem is still present in the most recent version of the game.
In an issue that only affects console versions of the game, an annoying interface problem with 's local split-screen co-op can have multiple player name tags appearing in the top left corner of the screen, covering the first player's minimap and making it significantly harder to use for navigation. As of the most recent patches,the problem has yet to be fixed, despite having been a known issue for many months, and a major annoyance for anyone attempting to go through a local co-op playthrough of the game.
While it's hard to know how difficult any given issue is to fix, and developers obviously can't just snap their fingers and rectify bugs instantly, this problem seems like one that should be on the simpler side to remedy by moving the names to the top-left corner of the first player's screen, or giving an option to not display the names at all.
