In a recent interview, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy made light of why Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch when asked for clarification. Dr Disrespect was suddenly banned from the platform in 2020 with no reason given, leaving his fans confused and outraged over Twitch's decision.

In 2020, Dr Disrespect was in the middle of a stream when he suddenly became distraught. After signing off for the evening, the announcement of his ban was made on social media, but with no reason given. Four years later, fans of the controversial Call of Duty streamer still don't know why he was permanently removed from Twitch. The two sides have settled outside of court following their dispute, with neither admitting guilt.

Upon being asked why Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch, Clancy jokingly stated that there was an alien invasion that people were not aware of, and Dr Disrespect was possessed. Clancy laughed as he explained that the only way to save civilization and Twitch was to ban Dr Disrespect. This explanation isn't meant to be taken seriously, as the real reason will likely be kept secret for an undetermined amount of time.

Following a short hiatus, Dr Disrespect returned to streaming, making his transition from Twitch to YouTube. Continuing his persona and playing a variety of different games, Dr Disrespect hasn't missed a beat. There have been countless moments that his fans reference during his tenure on the new platform, including uninstalling Call of Duty: Warzone following a nuke win in season 2. Though the banning from Twitch affected Dr Disrespect in the short term, he's bounced back tremendously over the last four years and become one of the biggest streamers on YouTube.

While Dr Disrespect continues to increase his audience reach on YouTube, there is a possibility of reinstatement on Twitch in the future. In an interview with Clancy in late 2023, the Twitch CEO hinted at the potential of revisiting permanently-banned users and giving them a second chance. While he resisted
