Last month, Larian Studios broke the hearts of every Baldur's Gate fan across the globe by announcing that they have no plans to work with the Dungeons & Dragons license moving forward, and that the studio will instead move onto something new rather than stick around and make Baldur's Gate 4. It was a hammer blow to the hopes and dreams of everyone that fell in love with the characters that Larian created, but it doesn't mean that they're gone forever.
In fact, there are a couple of voice actors that would love nothing more than to reprise their roles in other D&D projects, including Astarion actor Neil Newbon. Speaking with IGN, Newbon explains says that he's "not done" with the character just yet, and is hopeful that someone will give him the opprtunity to reprise his role as Astarion in the near future.
"With Astarion, his rhythm is still very much alive inside me somewhere and I feel I'm not done with him. But y'know, it's not my call. Hopefully at some point I'm going to reprise him and I'd love to do that, but we'll have to wait and see."
There's even a possibility that Neil Newbon could feature in a live action project, as the actor was incredibly enthusiatic about the possibility of playing Astarion in another Dungeons & Dragons move similar to Honor Among Thieves that released in cinemas last year. We know that the characters of Baldur's Gate 3 now belong to D&D license holder Wizards of the Coast, so the possibility for Astarion to appear in anything D&D related is very much real.
Baldur's Gate 3's everpresent narrator Amelia Tyler also recently stated how much she'd like to reprise her role in another D&D project as well. Speaking with IGN, Tyler said that was is 100 percent down with "anything Dungeons & Dragons or tabletop related" that someone out there wants her to be a part of, and that she "lives for that" kind of stuff. In fact, I think everyone's daily life would be enhanced if it were narrated by Amelia Tyler.
